Designs for all 19 Light Rail Transit stops have been unveiled, but the region is hoping you will give your input.

Each stop includes a recommended anchor wall, made of stone, ceramic or glass. All the materials are being used due to their aesthetics and durability.

Officials say the anchor wall is an architectural feature that provides area specific design considerations, visual prominence and wayfinding functionality.

“Our intention is to create some sort of plaque or poster that will go on the stop when the system is actually running” says Danielle Bury, Rapid Transit planner with the ION Division. “Then users of the system, whether they’re local or whether they’re coming from out of town, will understand the feedback behind the design, as well as give members of the public some ownership of the design as well.”

Comments can also be provided on the ION website which can be found here.

There are two upcoming public consultation meetings where residents can give their input.

In Waterloo, Wednesday May 20th at Knox Presbyterian Church from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In Kitchener, Thursday May 21st at The Region of Waterloo Administrative Headquarters from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
