Freddie Gray’s death ruled homicide, state attorney says

Six Baltimore police officers will face charges in connection to the death of Freddie Gray.

The Baltimore City State’s Attorney was blunt in describing what she thinks happened to Gray.

“The findings of our comprehensive, thorough, and very independent investigation, coupled with the medical examiner’s determination that Mr. Gray’s death was a homicide, which we received today, has led us to believe that we have probable cause to file criminal charges,” Marilyn J. Mosby told the media Friday.

Mosby says three of the officers illegally arrested Gray on April 12.

She said a knife gray had at the time of his arrest was not illegal.

Gray died April 19 from a serious spinal injury suffered a week earlier.

His death sparked protests in Baltimore and across the country.
