Donation to U-W to aid research in treating lung disease & quantum computing

The University of Waterloo and Technion-Israel Institute of Technology are sharing in a $1.6-million donation that both say could lead to breakthroughs in treating lung disease and quantum computing.

The donation comes from the The Gerald Schwartz and Heather Reisman Foundation.

University of Waterloo President and Vice-Chancellor, Feridun Hamdullahpur says “This visionary donation is already allowing us to accelerate progress in the key areas of quantum information science, nanotechnology and water.”

He goes as far as to say, “collaboration between Waterloo and Technion will lead to new innovations that will help to shape the future of communities, industries and everyday life.”
