Cambridge man charged after string of bizarre incidents in the city

A 30-year-old Cambridge man faces robbery and weapons charges after a string of bizarre incidents in that city.

Waterloo Regional Police say they were called to the John and Selkirk area just after five yesterday afternoon after receiving a report of a man carrying several large rocks and trying to get inside vehicles.

Police say he then entered a home and demanded the resident’s car keys – he refused and chased the man away.

At this point, police say he noticed an elderly woman getting into her car.

He again demanded the keys, but she refused.

There was a brief struggle before he ran away again.

Police say an arrest was made after a foot chase.
