Settlement reached at OMB for new Waterloo Costco

It looks like Costco will officially set up shop in Waterloo.

The City of Waterloo reached an agreement with Rice Commercial Group at the Ontario Municipal board today, to build the Costco on the west side of the city on Erb Street.

Director of legal services for the City, Steve Ross tells 570 News, the Costco can go ahead, once the details of two roundabouts on Erb Street have been settled.

“The zoning by-law has embedded within it a holding provision, that allows the Costco to go forward with a gas bar, but that Costco cannot be occupied until the construction of two roundabouts” says Ross.

Costco also needs to go through a site plan approval process and get written permission from the city.
