B-MO Financial Group’s latest household savings report suggests more Canadians have set up a monthly savings plan. Thirty-one per cent of respondents say they regularly set aside cash last year, up from 26 per cent in 2013. But the survey also reveals almost 20 per cent didn’t save a dime last year, which dovetails with a StatsCan report showing the household savings rate hit a five-year low late last year.

Canada’s privacy commissioner says Bell shouldn’t assume its customers are ok with the company tracking their Internet, T-V and phone use. Daniel Therrien launched an investigation after receiving an unprecedented 170 privacy complaints over Bell’s practice of tracking the use in order to deliver targeted online advertising. Bell has agreed to change its Relevant Advertising Program after initially refusing.
