Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,908.39, up 95.97 points):

St Andrew Goldfields Ltd. (TSX:SAS). Miner. Up two cents, or 8.33 per cent, to 26 cents on 26.8 million shares.

Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Up $1.98, or 11.33 per cent, to $19.45 on 7.5 million shares. Teck’s stock soared in the wake of a news report — later denied by the company — that it was in talks regarding a possible merger with Chilean copper miner Antofagasta.

Allana Potash Corp. (TSX:AAA). Miner. Up half-a-cent, or 1.05 per cent, to 48 cents on 6.7 million shares.

MBAC Fertilizer Corp. (TSX:MBC). Agriculture. Down half-a-cent, or 12.50 per cent, to 3.5 cents on 6.3 million shares.

Legacy Oil + Gas Inc. (TSX:LEG). Oil and gas. Down seven cents, or 4.32 per cent, to $1.55 on 5.03 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down 10 cents, or four per cent, to $2.40 on 4.8 million shares. The Quebec-based company announced a 10-year deal valued at about US$213 million to provide maintenance and spare parts for 74 four-car trains used on a rail service between London and points east. The contract has a five-year extension option.

Companies reporting major news:

Amaya Inc. (TSX:AYA). Online gaming. Up $2.31, or 8.28 per cent, to $30.21 on 1.8 million shares. The PokerStars owner says it has a $476-million deal to sell its holdings in the Cadillac Jack business, which designs electronic games and systems for the global gaming industry. The buyer is an affiliate of funds managed by Apollo Global management.

Manac Inc. (TSX:MA). Manufacturing. Up 36 cents, or 4.12 per cent, to $9.10 on 30,544 shares. The company, which bills itself as Canada’s largest truck trailer manufacturer, is reviewing strategic options, which could include a sale of the company, a merger or another business transaction.
