Waterloo’s Andrew Poje and Kaitlyn Weaver have won bronze in the ice dancing competition at the world figure skating championships in China.
The duo were the favourites coming into Shanghai having won all five international events they competed in this season, including the Grand Prix Finals and Four Continents Championships.
Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron of France took the gold. Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates
claimed the silver medal.
The ice dancing event lost some of its lustre this year without Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White, and Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, who have four world titles between them.
