A winner to be crowned in all-local singing competition

A local student will soon have bragging rights after they are crowned the top singer of THE SHOT.

Tonight is the final round of the all-local singing competition.

The competition is in its second season and is now down to its top 9 competitors after receiving over 90 auditions from Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Waterloo and Conestoga College.

Executive producer C.J. Allen says THE SHOT is different from most singing competitions like Canadian Idol or The Voice.

“The winner is going to record for a full day at a studio in Mississauga, they will perform at the Koi Music Fest in Downtown Kitchener this summer, and have a professional photo shoot and professional music video.”

Hundreds are expected to turn out to watch nine finalists compete for the title at the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts tonight at 6.
