Students from Wilfrid Laurier University going to Ghana for internship program

It’s an opportunity to engage in a new culture and develop experience working abroad.

Five students from Wilfrid Laurier’s Brantford campus are headed to Ghana this summer for a student internship program.

Last year, Brianna DaSilva was one of the students chosen to head to the African country.

She has this advice for those leaving this summer.

“Keep an open mind and have a sense of humor because things often don’t go as they’re planned…you can get stuck in traffic, you can get lost, you have scenarios where you don’t understand what’s happening and you just have be open minded…go with the flow…and learn from your experience.”

Sarah Yoder also had the chance to work in Ghana with the group that was chosen for last year’s internship.

“It was a great experience personally, just getting to immerse myself in a new culture and try new foods…it was great experience overall and I’m really glad that I was able to take part in it.”

The five students chosen for the 2015 internship will be gone for two months through July and August.
