Maple Leafs trade Olli Jokinen to Blues

The Toronto Maple Leafs traded forward Olli Jokinen on Monday to the St. Louis Blues.

The Maple Leafs will receive forward Joakim Lindstrom and a conditional sixth round draft pick in 2016 in exchange for Jokinen.

Jokinen, 36, was acquired — along with a first round draft pick —  in a deal last month with the Nashville Predators that saw Toronto give up Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli.

Jokinen’s contract was set to expire at the end of the season.

In another move before the end of the NHL’s trade deadline, the Maple Leafs sent defenceman Korbinian Holzer to Anaheim.

Coming back to Toronto is defenceman Eric Brewer as well as a fifth-round draft pick.
