London spoils the night and Kitchener’s home winning streak

The Kitchener Rangers saw their nine game home winning streak come to an end, losing 4-3 to London in a shootout on Tuesday night.

The Rangers were up 3-0 after the first period, following goals by Connor Bunnaman and Ryan MacInnis, who had a pair of power play markers.

Matt Rupert tied the game with under two minutes to play in the third and scored the only goal of the shootout.

The OHL’s leading scorer Mitch Marner had a goal and assist, giving him 110 points on the season. Christian Dvorak also reached the 100 point plateau with a helper on Marner’s goal.

Kitchener will look to halt its’ three game losing streak at home vs. North Bay on Friday. 570 News has the pre-game show at 7pm. The Rangers downed the Battalion 5-1 in North Bay last Thursday.

Captain Liam Maaskant and Max Iafrate will miss their second straight game due to two game suspensions resulting from Saturday’s game in the Soo. Both can return to the line-up for Sunday’s game in Guelph.
