Rod Stewart, Blondie & Soundgarden to headline Big Music Fest 2015

Rod Stewart and Blondie have been announced as Sunday headliners for Big Music Fest this year.

Matthew Currey, Mark Ballas and The Modern Hearts will also perform on Sunday. On Saturday, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Monster Truck and Extreme will take to the stage.

City officials welcomed a large crowd to Kitchener City Hall to announce this year’s lineup this morning.

Mayor Berry Vrbanovic opened the announcement adding that major events like Big Music Fest help vitality through Waterloo Region. The economic impact of Big Music Fest was an estimated $6-million dollars for the local economy.

Last year, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams and Slash performed resulting in anticipation of other big name acts for this years outdoor festival.

The event has expanded to seven days with four days of festivities Downtown Kitchener from July 6-9th.
