Rangers deal Bailey to Greyhounds for Miller and picks

The Kitchener Rangers have traded their leading scorer Justin Bailey to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

In exchange, Kitchener gets centre David Miller and a boatload of draft picks.

Rangers GM Murray Hiebert made the announcement Tuesday afternoon that the club had acquired Miller along with Sault Ste. Marie’s second round picks in the 2016 and 2018 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selections, and Plymouth’s third round pick in 2015.

The Rangers also receive a conditional pick; the Greyhounds third round selection in 2018.

Miller has recorded 13 goals and 13 assists for the Greyhounds this season. The Burlington native was included in NHL Central Scouting’s November rankings for the 2015 Entry Draft, and is described by Rangers’ scouts as a smart and creative playmaker with good speed and skill.

Bailey tweeted out the following text, thanking his billets, fans and the Rangers organization:

Bailey's thank you
