Kitchener hopes to be done plowing by this afternoon

With the snow still falling, plow drivers in Kitchener are hoping to get through all residential neighbourhoods by the end of the day today.

Officials say they’re dealing with extra challenges including high winds which quickly fill streets back in within two hours.

“We have started to get in as of Thursday into some of the residential backstretch” says Scott Berry, Manager of Maintenance with the City of Kitchener. “Although we weren’t able to complete that work on Thursday. Friday morning, 3 o’clock, we will go through everything again. We plan on being through all streets including all residential backstreets by sometime in the afternoon on Friday.”

Berry adds they’re hopeful residents will be patient and move vehicles off the roads if they can to allow easier access to roads.
