It’s Hockey Day in Rangers Nation

Hundreds of 10-year-olds are getting a taste of what it’s like to be a Kitchener Ranger today.

The event is in its fifth year and allows fourteen major Atom house league teams in the area to get an authentic Rangers game day experience.

Past president of the Kitchener Rangers Craig Campbell says it’s extremely important to be involved with local hockey at the grass roots level.

“These are our next generations of fans. I know when I was that age, I looked up to the Rangers because they were the role models. [The kids] normally just play in their own association and in their own rink early in the morning on the weekend.”

The teams have their own dressing room attendant and swag in their locker room. They will also get  pre-game introductions before taking to the ice and full use of the auditorium’s new screen and sound system.
