Assault at Waterloo high school earlier this month puts student in hospital

Details are emerging about an alleged assault at a Waterloo school earlier this month that left one student in hospital and another facing an assault charge.

The Record says police were called to St. David Catholic Secondary School on October 2nd.

Police say the accused – a 16-year-old boy – was a member of the team’s football team and he was suspended for five days.

The school board is saying little about the incident, telling the paper  “The situation is both an internal personnel matter and involves the personal information and privacy of specific students.”

There’s no word on how badly the other student was hurt.
