Owens Corning moving Guelph plant production to Mexico, over 100 local jobs to be cut

The Owens Corning Plant in Guelph tells 570 News they’re refocusing production on a different product.

Meaning just over 100 local jobs will be cut.

Currently the plant employs about 169 people and once the restructuring is complete they will have a workforce of about 50.

Owens Corning says the main impact will happen in 2016.

The production of the other main product currently being made in Guelph will be moved to a plant in Tlaxcala, Mexico.
