Lenovo to make another play for BlackBerry

Rumours have surfaced that Lenovo Group Limited is set to make another pitch for Waterloo-based smartphone maker BlackBerry.
But, The Globe and Mail reports chances of a winning bid are so remote, according to a person close to BlackBerry, that the company has not entered into merger discussions with Lenovo.
The Globe says a BlackBerry spokesperson declined to comment and Lenovo could not be reached for comment.
Lenovo reportedly accounts for nearly five per cent of global smartphone sales, compared to almost three per cent for BlackBerry.
The news sent BlackBerry stock was up almost ten per cent on Monday.
