CUPW stepping up fight to save door-to-door mail delivery

The union representing the country’s postal workers is stepping up its fight to save door-to-door delivery.

CUPW is planning a news conference in Ottawa later this morning to announce what it describes as “major news”.

Oakville is one of the first places in Canada set to lose its door to door service.

Mail will be delivered to community mailboxes starting later this year.

A Cambridge mom started a petition earlier this year. It now has over 154,000 signatures.

Susan Dixon’s youngest son has cerebral palsy and needs a walker or wheelchair to get around. She says Canada Post’s decision would mean having to bundle both of her children up and struggle through the snow with a wheelchair to retrieve the mail.

You can sign the petition HERE.
