St. Gabriel welcomes students for the first time today

An extra special first day of school for 350 Cambridge students today.

Their brand new school on Guelph Avenue in Hespeler is now open and will provides classes from JK – Grade 8 for about 350 pupils.

Principal Cheryl Casselman says St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary is ‘definitely a ’21st Century School.’

“It has whiteboards in every classroom, laptops, a beautiful collaborative library, a charging station, LED lighting and a daylight harvesting dimming system.”

The building sits on a little over 44-thousand square feet of land and has 12 classroom teachers.

A lot of the students are coming from two other schools within their board, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Elizabeth.

The school is offering full day Kindergarten along with extended-day before and after school programs.
