Kitchener Rangers welcome fans to their BBQ

It’s sure to be a busy day at the Kitchener Aud today, where fans are invited to meet the Rangers, enjoy a barbecue and watch the team play an exhibition game against the Mississauga Steelheads.

Proceeds from the event support the Children’s Wish Foundation. Community relations manager of the Rangers, Adriann Kennedy tells 570 News about this, as well as some other reasons the team is excited for the event.

“We know that it’s a long summer for the fans. We know that it is difficult to be away from hockey, but really, we miss the fans too. It’s a great opportunity for us to welcome everybody back, to get to know them, for them to get to know the players and to support a really great community cause.”

For the first time ever this year, Kennedy says fans will get a chance to win a trip to the Rangers’ season opener in Owen Sound this September. The prize will include two great seats, food and transportation.

Today, the Rangers will take on the Mississauga Steelheads in their first exhibition game of the year. The puck drops at 2:00 PM inside the Aud.
