Driver’s license suspended after cyclist struck and injured in Guelph

Guelph Police are asking for witnesses to come forward, after a cyclist was struck during a crash last night in Guelph.

It happened just after 7:30 last night. Police say the pick-up truck was exiting the Hanlon Parkway using the Wellington Street off-ramp.

That’s when it struck the cyclist travelling westbound on Wellington.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the bicycle wedged underneath the truck and the cyclist lying in the middle of traffic.

The 27-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 40-year-old Kitchener man, and driver of the pick-up truck, was served a three day drivers licence suspension. He registered an ‘alert’ on an alcohol screening device.
