Early morning fire in Cambridge

Damage is in the hundreds of thousands after an early morning fire in Cambridge today.

Fire crews were called just before 4:30 am to reports of a fire at 106 State Street.

“We had a multi-station response” says Division Chief, Damond Jamieson. “Upon arrival of the first crew, flames were visible at the rear of the building. The fire crews got the fire under control quickly. Some of the fire did spread to the upper floor of the building.”

No one was home at the time of the blaze, and fire officials confirm no one was injured.

Damage is estimated between $350,000 and $375,000.

At this point, it’s still not clear what caused the fire, but an investigation is ongoing and it’s not considered suspicious.
