Centre in the Square review complete

Despite receiving an annual operating grant of $1.4 million from the City of Kitchener, Centre of the Square posted a $1.5-million deficit last year.

This prompted an operational and strategic review of the venue which will be presented to council Monday afternoon.

Four recommendations will also be made; something that Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr expects will be approved.

He tells 570 News what happens next.

“It takes us down a path of moving this entire review forward and actually trying to get to some solid conclusions and change in sustainability for both organizations.”

The recommendations include the city reviewing its funding relationship with Centre in the Square and looking over the needs of the building itself.
