Skateboarder taken to hospital after colliding with truck

A 17-year-old skateboarder is recovering from major injuries sustained when he collided with a pickup truck Friday night.

Regional Police say the truck was turning right from Brooklyne Road in Cambridge onto Glen Road, and the boarder was turning left onto Glen.

The skateboard crashed into the side of the pickup, and the rider was taken to Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

He was later transported to Hamilton General Hospital via ambulance due to the extent of his injuries.

The Waterloo Regional Police are still investigating this matter and requesting anyone who saw this collision to contact the traffic branch at 519-653-7700 ext. 8856 or email traffic@wrps.on.ca
