Kitchener jewelry heist culprit pleads guilty

It’s case closed for the jewelry heist of 2010, after the last culprit plead guilty in Superior Court in Kitchener yesterday.

21-year-old Mohammad Kermani admitted he used a hammer to break display cases at Peoples Jewellers at Fairview Park Mall in December that year, aiding three other culprits.

The guilty plea by the Richmond Hill man means additional charges of using a fake weapon and wearing a mask were dropped.

The crown is hoping for 15 months in jail plus probation when he is back in court in September.

That heist, which was one of many during December 2010, made away with almost 50 diamond rings and some diamond pendants, a total steal of $210, 000.
