Construction set to begin for St. Jacobs Farmers Market building

After a devastating fire last year, a new building is finally coming to the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market.
The building will be the new home for indoor market vendors and will be 40% larger than the old building.

Construction will start on the 34,000 square foot building at the end of this month and site work is expected to take around 10 months to complete. Officials say they hope to have the building completely operational by April of 2015.

The current “harvest barn” that was built to temporarily house indoor vendors, will continue to be used after the new building is operational.
