Search continues for suspect in deadly Moncton shooting

MONCTON, N.B.- The manhunt continues this morning in Moncton where the suspect in a deadly shooting rampage is still at large.

Hours after the Codiac RCMP received the initial report of a man wearing camouflage and carrying guns officers continue to search for 24-year old Justin Bourque who is suspected of killing three RCMP officers and wounding two others last night.

The Pinehurst subdivision in Moncton remains on lockdown this morning the area in which the RCMP believe Bourque may be hiding.

Debby Clements lives in the subdivision with her husband who is a RCMP officer out on sick leave.

She says her family is on edge. “It’s frightening for sure even though I have my own live in security here”, says Clements. “It’s kind of scary and we’ve been trying to stay out of the windows as much as possible and just really glued to the news and trying to let the police do their job”.

People living in the Pinehurst area are being advised to stay inside their homes and lock their doors.

Schools in Anglophone East and Francophone South in Moncton have been closed today.

Police officers from around the province remain on scene in Moncton this morning to assist in the search.
