North York grandmother scores $50M Lotto Max jackpot

Sophie Rizavas has 50-million reasons to quit her four jobs.

She picked up her winning Lotto Max cheque Tuesday after scoring the jackpot in Friday’s draw.

“I don’t know how I’m feeling to tell you the truth. I’m so happy. I don’t even realize yet I’m a millionaire,” Rizavas said.

The 63-year-old mother and grandmother promises to use the money to help people, but admits she has no idea how to spend that kind of money.

Rizavas has no interest in fancy cars and says she and her husband will stay in their North York home.

They do have plans to take a family vacation, something Rizavas will have plenty of time for now that she has quit her cleaning jobs.

Rizavas scanned her ticket on May 10, 44 years to do the day she arrived in Canada from Greece.
