Deal extended for Manulife Financial LPGA Classic

The LPGA will remain in Waterloo Region for at least two more years, with Manulife Financial remaining the title sponsor of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic for 2015 and 2016.

The extension was announced at a news conference at Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo on Monday, the site of this year’s tournament and the previous two. So far the tournament has attracted over 125,000 spectators.

Both the 2012 and 2013 tournaments were decided by a playoff.

There’s the possibility of the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic moving to another course in 2015, but any decision on that will be made after this year’s tournament according to Manulife officials.
