Flood warnings and watches across Southern Ontario

All the rain and warmer temperatures are causing flooding concerns across Southern Ontario.

The Grand River Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for West Montrose along the Upper Grand, Conestogo and Speed rivers warning that some areas may have to be evacuated.

Some flooding has already occurred in Grand Valley and Drayton and will continue through Sunday evening as high flows move downstream.

And north of us, a flood warning has been put into effect for areas surrounding the Harriston watershed. The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority is recommending that the Town of Minto complete all the necessary evacuations and follow road closures. Municipalities in the Maitland and Nine Mile watersheds are also making preparations for evacuation.

On top of that, Belleville officials are looking for volunteers to help fill sandbags as concerns grow about local rivers overflowing.

On Thursday the municipality declared a state of emergency and authorities say heavy rains predicted over the next few days could send large stretches of rivers spilling over their banks.

More than 50 homes have already been evacuated and officials say as many as 200 more are under threat.

Below is a detailed description of flood warnings and closures to be aware of:
