Hudak talks jobs plan, but addresses gas plants scandal again

Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak put the focus on his jobs plan during an appearance on 570’s Gary Doyle Show this morning.

However, a day after accusing Premier Wynne of having knowledge of the destruction of documents related to the gas plants scandal, he said the time is right for a new government at Queen’s Park.  “Look, I’ve been out there and that’s what I was doing today, and some folks have asked me about the gas plants scandal. It’s unfortunate we have to talk about this, but I do believe the fact that there’s a criminal investigation is another reason for change in our province.”

Hudak said the scandal is distracting the government from the important issue of job creation.  That said, Mr. Hudak said Wynne may have ordered the destruction of documents. “They (O.P.P.) had a big revelation yesterday about hard drives being stripped clean that happened under Kathleen Wynne’s watch.  It’s unfortunate that has been the focus when we should talking more about how to get this economy going again.”

Hudak went one step further, saying the Wynne Liberals “have lost the moral authority to govern. “When I see the government has decided to put their own Liberal interests ahead of creating jobs in the province, when you see that we’ve got a criminal investigation into the destruction of documents under Premier Wynne’s watch.”

Last month, Mr. Hudak announced his “Million Jobs Plan”, a plan he says will create a million jobs in the province over the next eight years.
