What former Rangers are up to in the OHL playoffs

A pair of former Kitchener Rangers faced off last night in St. Catharines.

Eric Ming had an assist and scored an empty net goal as his Niagara Ice Dogs beat Ben Thomson and the North Bay Batallion 2-0.

The Ice Dogs lead the series 2-1.

Meantime, in Sudbury, a host of former Rangers are in a heap of trouble.

Radek Faksa scored once in the Wolves 6-4 loss to Barrie.

The Colts lead the series 3-0.

Fellow former Rangers Franky Palazzese, Matt Schmalz and coach Paul Fixter are also with Sudbury.

Elsewhere, Josh Sterk’s fourth of the playoffs was the double OT winner in Mississauga as the Oshawa Generals beat the Steelheads 6-5.

The Gens jump out to a 3-0 series lead.

Evan McEneny was pointless in Kingston’s 4-2 win over Peterborough.

Waterloo native Mike Moffat scored a goal as the Frontenacs take a 3-0 series lead.

The Plymouth Whalers beat the Guelph Storm 2-1.

The Storm still lead the series 2-1.

And the London Knights hammered the Windsor Spitfires 10-2 to take a 3-0 lead in that series.
