What’s being described as a major music festival will land in Kitchener this summer.

The city will host Big Music Fest from July 11th to the 13th.

It’s taking place at McLennan Park.

Although the line up has yet to be announced, Big Music Fest president and owner, Mark Higgins says, “This year, Big Music Fest 2014, will be one of Ontario’s biggest three-day music festivals. Our goal is to bring in a world-renowned musical line-up at an affordable price so that everyone can enjoy this epic event.”

The event, which has been around since 2008, is said to have generated millions of dollars for host cities.

City Councillor Paul Singh says the festival will put Kitchener on the map adding, “There is no doubt of the benefit to our local economy, and the entire city and region.”

As for who will be performing, an announcement is expected this Tuesday.
