Kitchener boxer a little nervous about going to Ukraine

A Kitchener boxer says she’s “a little bit nervous” about heading to Ukraine for a training camp ahead
of a tournament which starts next month in Poland.

But, Mandy Bujold says they’re not going there to be involved with the politics, the focus is on their training camp.

Bujold adds the area they’re heading too is located in west Ukraine, far enough away from where the political unrest is happening.

“We’re actually going with a guy who is from there…He’ll be able to navigate us around…”

The seven-time Canadian champ will be joined by four other female boxers out of the Atlas Boxing Club in Toronto.

The Feliks Stamm Memorial Boxing Tournament opens April 8th in Warsaw, Poland.

It will be a busy year for Bujold with the Commonwealth Games and World Championships also on her schedule.
