Funeral services today for Elmira woman whose body was pulled from the Grand last week

Funeral services will be held today for an Elmira woman whose body was pulled from the Grand River in Kitchener a week ago.

Twenty-eight year-old Erin Howlett will be laid to rest this afternoon after a funeral being held at Lion’s Hall on South Street West in Elmira.

Police are treating her death as suspicious and Thursday, a dive team from Niagara Region was back in the river looking for clues into her death.

This morning’s Record reports, the dive operation was suspended until now due to volatile conditions on the river.

Authorities have not yet been able to determine a cause of death.
