School board votes to close St. Boniface

The end appears to be near for St. Boniface Catholic Elementary School in Maryhill.

The Catholic School Board has voted to close it with those students to be transferred to a still to built new school in Breslau.

The board now turns its attention to buying property in Brelsau and then constructing a 250 pupil school.

The board is now embarking on a school accommodation review focusing on West Waterloo and Wilmot and Wellesley townships.

Several schools will be looked at including St. Clement, St. Agatha, Holy Family, St. Nicholas and Holy Rosary.

However it says St. Nicholas, Holy Rosary, Holy Family and St. Clement CES will not be considered for closure.

That review is slated to begin this fall and be complete late next spring.
