A public funeral will be held for Guelph Police Constable Jennifer Kovach on Thursday, March 21, 2013.Guelph police confirm it will begin at 11:30 Thursday morning at the Sleeman Centre.

Hundreds of police officers are expected to attend the service at the five-thousand seat facility.
The 26 year old officer died suddenly this past Thursday morning when her cruiser crashed into a transit bus.

She was responding to a call for back-up when it happened, on Imperial Road near the West End Rec Centre, just after 12:30 a.m.

Kovach was the daughter of Guelph City Councillor Gloria Kovach.

The four-year veteran of the force is being remembered as a young woman with a “gregarious smile,” who would do anything for you, and was fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming a police officer.
