Residents are being reminded to keep their vehicles off of city streets for the next 24 hours.

The City of Kitchener has declared a snow event, which started at midnight

All vehicles must be moved off city streets or risk an $80 ticket or being towed at the owner’s expense.

There will be no parking on city streets in Kitchener for 24 hours after the event has been declared until it is lifted on February 27th at 11:59 p.m.

Depending on weather conditions, the city may lift or extend the event, and residents will be notified in advance.

If you suspect your car has been towed, call 519-741-2330 to find out where your car has been relocated.

The City of Waterloo is also reminding residents there is no overnight parking on city streets between 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Waterloo residents are also being asked to keep their cars off of city streets for 24 hours, even after the snow plow has been through. This will ensure that all snow and ice can be properly removed throughout the city.

People in both cities are also being reminded it’s the law to clear all sidewalks in front or beside your home.
