Victoria Park improvements

Victoria Park is getting some more improvements.

Kitchener received $200,000 to build new washrooms in the park and additional $250,000 will go towards surfacing some primary trails with asphalt.

The two projects are supported by the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund. Kitchener-Centre M-P Stephen Woodworth and Mayor Carl Zehr made the announcement on Wednesday morning.

“The Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund projects in our community will help to boost economic activity and enhance the benefit of urban conservation for Kitchener residents of all ages,” said Woodworth.

Mayor Zehr also added the improvements will make the park even better for the community.

The city will also be matching the two contributions using funds from the Recreational Land Reserve.
