Don Cameron Potato Night is tonight at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium when the Kitchener Rangers host the Erie Otters.

A donation of potatoes or cash will be accepted at the door.

This is the 16th annual Don Cameron Potato Night with the Rangers, and the event is the start to House of Friendship’s yearly February Potato Blitz which aims to collect enough spuds for food assistance throughout their 19 programs for the entire year, which is approximately 200,000 pounds of potatoes.

Over the years, Ranger fans have donated over 42,000 pounds of potatoes. In 2012, they brought almost five thousand pounds of spuds to the game along with over $6,900 in cash donations, which was matched by Zehrs Markets.

If you can’t make it to the game you can make a $5 donation with your cellphone by texting SHARE to 41010.

NOTE: The puck drops at 7 tonight because the game is being nationally televised on Sportsnet. You can also listen on 570 News.
