Guelph Police have laid charges against a driver who lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole.

It happened late Thursday night in the intersection of Paisley and Yorkshire Street North.

Damage between the vehicle and pole tops $8,500.

39-year-old Van Nam Nguyen is charged Refusing to Provide Breath Sample, and Careless Driving and will appear in court in February.
