The City of Kitchener has declared its first snow event of the season.

That means there is no parking on any city streets at any time Thursday.

That’s to allow crews to clear the snow without having to dodge parked vehicles.

Those caught parked on the streets could be issued a ticket to the tune of $80 and have their vehicle towed.

The parking ban is in effect until early Friday morning.
