Financial advisor charged in fraud investigation

A year long investigation by Waterloo Regional Police into the practices of a financial advisor has ended with police laying scores of charges.

Police say the probe was launched in October 2011 after they received complaints from Waterloo Region and area residents.

They say the complaints centred on financial investment losses.

Police say investigation into the allegations found roughly $1.5-million were solicited from 22 parties.

Charges against 38-year-old Jennifer Killins include fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000, attempted fraud over $5,000 and forgery.

Police say she is also known as Jenn Stokes and is the owner of Dollars and Sense Financial Group.

Police say it the business was recently relocated from Waterloo to Killins’ residence in Toronto.
