Public elementary school students in the Guelph area have a long weekend.

The Upper Grand District School Board is among those affected today by rotating strikes launched by the teachers’ union.  

Also on the hit list today are the boards in Simcoe County and Kawartha Pine Ridge near Peterborough.

The Teachers’ Federation has said all provincial boards will be targeted by December 20th but, so far, there is no word on when the Waterloo Region District School Board will be hit by a one day walkout.
