The third time is the charm for Kitchener Rangers’ captain Ryan Murphy.
Murphy has made Canada’s World Junior hockey team which will go for gold in Russia over the Christmas holidays.
Murphy had been cut from the team on two previous occasions.
He’ll be joined on the squad by Rangers’ head coach Steve Spott, who is also Canada’s head coach.
The final roster was announced last evening. Kitchener native Mark Scheifele of the Barrie Colts also made the team for a second straight year.
Canada’s first game is on Boxing Day against Germany.
