BlackBerry maker, Research In Motion, provided a sneak peak of their new BB10 Operating System on Tuesday.
Adjectives like “innovative” and “intuitive” were used by company officials during the half hour demonstration on some of the new features used to describe the new OS.
There’s just over 50 days to go now until the Waterloo-based tech giant officially launches BB10 as well as the long-awaited new BlackBerry devices.
Managing Director of RIM Canada, Andrew MacLeod, tells 570 News INTEREST in the new smartphones has been gathering steam and they wanted to show off some of the exciting features it can do.
BlackBerry Hub is an all in one area where users can get feeds, emails, texts, BBM’s, tweets, Facebook messages and even calendar events.
BlackBerry Balance allows users to “split” the phone for personal and business needs. Personal information and apps are separated from work data, and the customer can switch from their personal to work profile with a swipe.
BlackBerry Keyboard learns and adapts to how you write and type so you can write faster, in some cases without having to type out the whole word.
MacLeod says the company is on-track for the January 30th launch date for BB10 with dates announced then for when touch screen BlackBerry’s will go on sale. However, fans of the traditional QWERTY keyboard devices, RIM says it will be “a little while longer” for those versions.
He says the energy and excitement from their Canadian and global partners is providing great motivation.
