Perth County OPP have charged a 23 year old Milverton man in an on going homicide investigation.

23 year old Michael Schweitzer is charged with first degree murder and attempted murder after a shooting in the town, north of Stratford, last night.

17 year old Nicole Wagler of Milverton succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while 22 year old Tyler Baker, also of Milverton, is in critical condition in a London hospital.

Kees Wijnands with Perth County OPP tells 570 News they’re now looking to the public for information, “If there’s anything that they know, or have heard, or something that they think we should be aware of with respect to these individuals and this investigation, so they can contact us by getting a hold of Perth County OPP. This is a very close-knit community and this is something we don’t want to see at all, anywhere.”

Schweitzer appeared in Stratford court this afternoon and has been remanded into custody until his next court date of December 7th.

While the investigation continues, Wijnands says not too many more details are expected to be released due to a publication ban.
