Kitchener Rangers Captain Ryan Murphy was one of 37 players to get an invite to Canada’s World Junior selection camp on Monday afternoon.

The camp opens next Tuesday in Calgary.

This will be Murphy’s third crack at the nation’s World Junior squad. He was one of the final cuts last year.

The first-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes currently has four goals and 17 assists in 28 games with Kitchener this season.

Rangers Head Coach and General Manager, Steve Spott will coach the team.

Their first game is Boxing Day versus Germany.

Canada took bronze in the 2011-12 tournament.
